“Nice Place and nice people”
I visited Yuwaku because of the anime Hanasaku Iroha. I tried booking ryokan in Yuwaku, however, most of them don't serve one guest, so I had no choice but choose to stay in Yuwaku Guest House. I book the family room, which is big enough for a family, although I am the one and only one stay there. I have to set up my own bed before sleep because there is no one set up the bed for me in this Japanese style room. Once the manager noticed that I came there because of the anime, he gave me the key with a keychain of the anime characters. I love this small trick. The manager provided two onsen tickets. There are three public onsens in Yuwaku, one of them is next to the guest house, so I visited the same onsen twice. Yuwaku is far away from the Kanazawa JR Station, you can go there by taxi or by bus. If you have large luggage, I do prefer you call a taxi. There is not much space on the bus for putting luggages, and only one departure per hour. Calling a taxi will save your life. The guest house is on the top of Yuwaku, and it's not closed to the Visitor Center. If you know how to ride a bike, you may borrow a bike from the guest house. Otherwise, you have to walk about 15 mins to the center. By the way, the center is not located in the Yuwaku Onsen-Kyo, so no matter you stay in which hotel, you have to travel the same distance to the visitor center. FYI, the center will be closed on Tuesday. The cleaningness of the guest house is good, however, you may find some small insects around your room. I have to kill 3 insects before I slept. You can have a breakfast (noodles) for 500 JPY in the guest house. There is not much restaurants in the area, having a breakfast in the guest house is not a bad idea. I will definitely recommend all of you to stay in the guest house when you visit Yuwaku.
