“Suburban hotel”
The hotel is located in Ireland City. On the first day, we stayed near Tenjin, and on the second day, we stayed at this hotel. There’s a direct bus from the hotel to Marine World, and we arrived in just 10 minutes. Since there were four of us, we took a taxi on the way there, which cost about 1000 yen. After checking in and gathering the disposable items, it was nice that kids' robes were provided separately. The room is really spacious; we placed four 24-inch suitcases at the entrance, and even when opening and closing them, it wasn't cramped. I left two open, so we didn’t have to bring them into the bed area. The kids stayed on the second floor. Since the heater was on, the air was heavy and warm upstairs, while it felt a bit chilly downstairs, making it difficult to adjust the temperature. The bathroom, which includes a toilet, sink, and bathtub, is small compared to the room size, but since there is a public bath, it wasn't an issue being small. The public bath is on the top floor, and the water is very warm and clean, which we enjoyed using. During breakfast time, we noticed we were the only foreigners, and the rest were Japanese travelers. The variety of food wasn't huge, but everything we tried was delicious. The tonkotsu ramen and negitoro were tasty. Besides the types of bread, there’s a machine for mini pancakes, but the speed at which they come out is slow, so you have to time it right to eat them. There’s a food court nearby where we had a simple lunch, and there is also a supermarket nearby which is great for buying snacks. Everything is fine, but since it’s really on the outskirts, the surroundings resemble a factory complex – it feels like Songdo by the sea without parks. We took a taxi to Hakozaki, where we shopped at Don Quijote and Drugstore Lumière, then had coffee at a nearby Starbucks, and enjoyed a very reasonably priced yakiniku place right next door where we ate until we were full for just around 10,000 yen. If shopping isn't the main goal, I think staying in an outer city is okay.
