Where to stay in Chiang Rai Province
Chiang Rai Province hotels & accommodations
Bandara Resort is in the stage of a soft opening, not everything is ready yet. We had took that into account when we stayed there and you should too. They told me it will officially open 2-3 months or around June/July 2014. It was quiet as we only saw about another 7 guests there.. The place is beautiful though, with amazing gardens and amazing views. Although, at thi...
Hi Chiang Rai is a beautiful Brand New hotel in a premium location in Chiang Rai. you will be hard pushed to beat this place for value for money. nice rooms & sweet small bathrooms with super soft towels. good buffet breakfast serving cereals/toast/muffins/fruit & fresh ground coffee. has a beautiful indoor swimming pool. only downside was wifi was only available in th...

Had a 2 night stay here with my elderly parents when touring Chiang Rai. This is a lovely hotel in Chiang Rai city, walking distance to the Chiang Rai night bazaar. Hotel staff spoke good English and were very smiley and friendly. We could feel that they were eager to please the guests with their prompt service and pleasant demeanour. According to the receptionist, the...
This hotel has been one of the highlights of my travels around Asia. Set on a quiet road about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Chiang Rai, the fairly ordinary entrance road does not prepare you for what waits at reception and beyond. Once checked in the friendly staff guide you through a tropical paradise of plants and trees to one of the spacious and well equipped ...
This is my first time at this hotel and it’s the best of the 3 hotels I have stayed in Chiang Rai. The location is very good in the centre of the traditional part of Chiang Rai. There are plenty of Thai and foreign restaurants nearby. The Night Bazaar is only 2 minutes’ walk and these markets are great affordable shopping with cheap eating options. The room was very pl...
I really enjoyed my stay here. It was very quiet, the surrounding area is very beautiful, my room was awesome, and I was able to immerse myself in total quiet and relaxation. I felt tucked away from the the rest of the world. Upon check in, was upgraded to a room with a big tub on the balcony, which was awesome. I enjoyed hiking everyday and lounging by the quiet p...
The hotel is located in resort environment, I firstly surprised to see the ambient atmosphere with super staff service when I checked in. Chiang Rai is a very nice province upnorth of Thailand, it's fully filled with Thai cultural and natural experiences. Before I booked this hotel, I have gone thru the comments, most of them looked positive to me. I didn't disappoint ...
Room service from Tid Doi Tid Din was by far the worst thing we ate in Chiang Rai. Breakfast buffet was great for a breakfast buffet. There is excellent food in the area, but there is a message/guideline posted requesting that guests don't bring in food, which was disturbing and offensive considering the quality of the room service. The staff were cordial and professio...
the hotel consists of 15-20 small buildings, each having 2-4 rooms, disposed around the swimming pool. a night-lit running track encircles the site. the hotel is on the road to the airport, very close to it (free ride to/from), but a good distance from the city (baht ride). there is nothing of interest immediately around the hotel, so it is mainly a place to relax, o...
I regularly travel to Thailand ... and always visit Chiang Rai. This is the best place in town. Shhh ... the secret is out. However, if you want to be in the thick of the action in town, you will need to sort out transport. Chiang Rai big bike rentals are my prime choice for vehicle rental. Thanks all at Pan Kled
It is a new hotel in Chiang Rai . Room is clean. Staffs are friendly and nice with good service. WiFi is so good. Just only a bit far from the center but walkable. Totally I can say I like Hop Inn Chiang Rai and will come back.
stayed one night before flying out to bangkok. saw the hotel on agoda and was very happy we chose this one as it has a huge lobby, huge dinning room and nice pool surrounded by lovely trees and plants. the room was small with two twin beds but very confortable with fridge, hot water for coffee and the bathroom was well laid out. roomrate came with breakfast and we had ...
the hotel is simple but nice. spacious room even with the extra bed with the nice mountain view(deluxe room.they have a large living room in the hotel building where you can watch tv, read a book or whatever.we stayed there the night before visiting the royal villa and mae fah luang garden and it is very convenient. we were the first one to enter the royal villa at 7 a...
The check in was smooth although nobody speaks English. The room was spacious and every room has an amazing view as shown in photos. Surrounded by tea farm, they always serves you a cup or glass of tea in every meal which is so thoughtful for me 😍 Not too much facilities, just a resto where all the meals are being served. They also have this tea section where one of t...
General impressions: This resort is set apart from the main street and overlooks the Kok River. For our trip in February, the resort was very quiet, with only a couple dozen other guests from what we could gather. Public Areas: The lobby is spacious and comfortable. A welcome drink is offered during check-in. The main pool area is scenic and well designed, though t...
this is my 3rd time staying at the legend chiang rai hotel in 12 months. each stay has been an excellent experience for me. the staff is very helpful and friendly. the grounds are beautiful and well kept up. the rooms are always very clean and comfortable. we have eaten in the restaurant on many occasions and have found each time to be warm, fresh, and very good. i wil...
This hotel is a great pick in Chiang Rai. The location is very convenient, close to the clock tower, a lot of restaurants and a market. The room was bright (only one small window but good light and all in white) and the bathroom newly renovated. The bed was huge and very comfortable. However, the room was not very spacious but enough for our stay and amount of luggage....
The rooms are beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by mountains, forests and paddy fields. There are streams flowing from the waterfall through the resort. Very good environment Breakfast is provided with the resort's own grown vegetables. If I go to Chiang Rai, I will plan to stay here agin. Recommend for Northern Thai style room.
I went to Chiang Rai with a friend for a trip of 2 days 1 night only. Our plan was packed with to do list, thus not spending much time at this place. The place itself is located next to River Kok where you can find lots of restaurants within a walking distance. The view, especially in the early morning was brilliant. The room was clean and has everything I needed. W...
We were only at Diamond Park Inn Resort for a quick overnight stay, so we didn't get a real sense of the place. The staff was friendly, and the rooms were fine. We arrived at the wrong hotel initially, because there are two hotels in Chiang Rai of the same name (Diamond Park Inn and Diamond Park Inn Resort) and the staff kindly drove us from one location to the next:...
First of all the hotel is fantastic. One thing is for sure...the hotel is not located in Chiang Rai, Thailand. It is located in a small town called Chiang Saen (in English is Golden Triangle) and in the province of Chiang Rai, Thailand. When I reached the city of Chiang Rai, I was of the impression that the hotel was in Chiang Rai town but its not. Its another 10...
Cons: Noisy aircon This booking was a misstake. I was supposed to find a hotel in Chiang Rai and found this one in agoda and didnt notice it was far away from Chiang Rai. About 1 hour drive. At the golden triangle. But I was lucky. The Hotel was great, so was the litte city of Chiang Sean where it is. I had a fantastic time there. The hotel is perfect. Great breakfa...
good river view, quiet, clean room. only 2-3 minutes by Tuck tuck to Ampore Chiang Kiong bus station (I went to Chiang Mai).
Amarin Resort is one of my favorite places to stay in Chiang Rai because it's quiet, relaxing, and the room is always extremely clean and organized. There's not much to do at the resort - there's no view or anything - but it's a nice place to stay. The location is not right in Chiang Rai center, but across the highway, which for me was a benefit.
Wangcome is a pleasant clean hotel right in centre of Chiang Rai, all the facilities which a tourist may require are readily to hand. It's a little dated but clean and comfortable. The breakfast menu could do with a little more imagination, however, there is more than enough choice to see you through to a late lunch
Cheap places to stay in Chiang Rai Province
When I booked, I thought the hostel was in Chiang Rai, instead of Chiang Khong... But it's my fault for not checking the map and the address. But as I was planning on going there the next day, it wasn't a problem. The owner is a very nice person. The beds are comfy, there's three toilets/showers for the dorm. Everything was very clean. I didn't go to the bar but it l...
We booked this accommodation as we knew it would be a long way to Chiang Mai after a full day on the slow boat. We didn't arrive until 8 so it was a wide choice! The room was fine for the night, had everything we needed and was close to a few restaurants! The guesthouse did breakfast at an extra price but it was tasty. Only around a kilometre away from the green bus st...
well, this hostel near is the bus terminal in the city center, cleanliness and staff kindly. but the facilities only the air condtion and solo bathroom which always sink water to the room when you wash body. public toilet. a litter bit noise in the midnight from the motobike engine on the street and bar downstair rearside. free tea and coffee.
One of the best hostels I've been in Thailand. The hammocks space is amazing, I could spend there hours and hours in front of the fire. But the best here is the staff. They are very professional and especially good people. For sure I will come back there if I came back to Chiang Rai, and of course, I'm already recommending it to the travelers I'm meeting. Hope to see ...
we stayed here for one night before crossing into laos. the hotel was in a good location in the centre of chiang khong. the room was spacious, clean and quiet. the wifi worked well. a number of shops and restaurants are within walking distance.
Very good big guesthouse, ideally located, experienced staff, nice big garden +pool with lots of chlorine.. The more expensive rooms left of reception are specially worth their money (600 -800 bt) . The ones other side (250 - 300 bt) have one disadvantage: walls are thin bamboo, wood floor creaks, bed also. So you have to be a sound sleeper. But there are hardly any...
Absolutely nothing to say cons about this wonderful place. Clean large new room with all the things you can ask for is there. Owner was there to welcome every guest he personally attend to comfort of every one. As I am a vegetarian he made it to point to provide some vegetarian food for breakfast. Mr. Noi the owner is a wonderful host. Walking distance to Mayanmar bord...
The staff here are very helpful and the facilities well maintained. The location is great for getting to everything you want to see and do in Chaing Rai. I would stay here again!
This is a great hostel for anyone. The place is very new and modern and very comfortable. I ended up extending for 5 days because it was really nice being here and exploring thee relaxed Chiang Rai. The staff are helpful and friendly and really great talking to. I met many travellers here and enjoyed the socialising. The locals close by are also friendly so I cannot re...
I am pretty sure it is quite rare to find a place managed by Christian in the Kingdom! First time for me in Thailand. As a solo tourist I found the room acceptable but two persons with two big packs then you might find the room a bit on the small size. Chiang Khong bus station to Chiang Rai is at a acceptable walking distance ie 15mins and might take more if you have h...
Staff(Owner) gives you the best hospitality with warmth. I really didn't travel much in Chiang Rai this time though, I fully enjoyed my time there and conversation I had with the owner and travelers. Pretty sized guesthouse and facilities are okay too. Got good coffee and many shower rooms. I was little worried about the room condition since it's big dorm, but it's cle...
Very cute little hostel! We got in at around 22:00, but there was someone at the desk waiting. You order your breakfast the night before, and the coffee was very good! We only stayed for a night in Chiang Rai. The showers had hot water, and we got a good nights rest! The next day we rented a motor bike from the hostel so that we could see a bunch of the temples. The fr...
It is the best location to stay in Mae Salong with the rooftop to spend time watching sunrise. There is morning market right behind the place and motorcycle for rent which is 5 minute-walk from the place. Plus, the staffs are so nice! It is the place I would love to come back and stay at least once again in Chiang Rai.
I had a fantastic time at Baan Bua Guesthouse! Such a beautiful garden, nice guests, centrally located, quiet little street, comfortable rooms and beds, very attentive staff, and the owner Tim is not only very professional but she is also super sweet! Her English is very good and we shared many talks about Thai life and she helped me out getting my visa extension here ...
Stayed in the family room with two bedrooms with my mum, please note this in on the top floor (4th) with no lift. Also the bathroom for that room although private is across the landing with new bath and toilet but in a semi outside room. The staff couldn’t speak English but were more than helpful with communicating without words! Air con was really good, obviously a ne...
I booked as I was too late to get anything in the city centre. Driving out I was a little bit apprehensive as to how far I seemed to be going and planned on heading back the next day. However I received such a genuinely warm welcome and care throughout my stay that I extended to three nights and only left because my itinerary forced my hand. Sununtha (probably not s...
I'm so glad I stayed at SOOK Hostel during my time in Chiang Rai. It is centrally located (walking distance to the bus station, restaurants/cafes and temples in the city, and right across the road from the Night Market) but was never too noisy. Bedding, bathrooms and common areas were always clean. And the owners are so kind and helpful - they were happy to provide rec...
The place cleanliness is tip top. Staff are very helpful. Two things that need to compliment the staff and the owner. Firstly, offer to help us get stamp and send out the post card for my friend and on the last day, send us to bus terminal. Show us the way to get around the city. Breakfast is provided even though the choice is limited but still a good gesture for the ...
I cannot say enough good things about Baan Bua Homestay. I stayed here for 2 nights at the recommendation of a friend who lives in Chiang Rai and I was so torn each day between sightseeing and never ever wanting to leave this adorable little home away from home. Free waters in the room, wifi, and television on the ground floor rooms. So clean that you could eat off the...
Perfect choice for backpackers to traveling in Chiang Rai. You can stay here for whenever, how long as you want. Room and each toilet/bathroom(separated) are spacious, well maintained. There are lockers and Public bathrooms you can use too. Also has washing machines for 20B, there is some places that could dry clothes in the sunshine. If you need any help or want to bo...
Friendly owner, located in the center of Chiang Rai, really close to the Night Bazaar. Concerning the room, it should really be refreshed (paint, AC, or bathroom), but it's maybe planed. In any case, it was very cheap so it worth it.
We booked 5 rooms for this trip, the hotel easily found just the corner of the main road and took a few minutes to get around with local shuttle car service. Stuffs were friendly and easily to communicate.
This could be one of the best hostels in thailand! the best in chiang rai for sure! Extremely friendly staff, comfortable bed and blanket (that make me hard to get out of bed 😂). Clean kitchen, clean toilet, and great common room, also not to mention the swimming pool area! so cozy! Location wise, 5-10 minutes walk to bus station 1, night market, night bazaar. This...
Great beds, privacy, WiFi , everyone is on their phone so hard to connect with other people, free good fresh coffee from local beans( not instant) amazing front desk staff especially the a.m. young women! Nearby cool cafe and restaurant! Best value for hostel in Chiang Rai! No party hostel!
A pleasent stay for nearly 2 weeks. With easy access to the Chiang Rai city. Possibility to eat directly in the hotel.
We arrived here in the afternoon after go around Chiang Rai, and the staff welcome us very friendly. The receptionist are very good in making conversation and make us forget about the tiredness. We rent 3 bed in dormitory room. The bed are very comfort and clean. Each person get a towel and mineral water. Overall is good, but the wall isnt soundproof, so we hear a ver...
Room was cheap. Staff didn't speak much English and couldn't give me any information. But next to the hotel there was a travel agent called "Easy trip" which was super helpful regarding booking border crossing transportation, change dollars etc.
The guesthouse is very well located in Chiang Rai, close to the night market and bus station and not far from city center. Everything in the city is in walking distance. You can rent a motorbike directly from the hostel to go to the less central sites (white temple, blue temple, black house, waterfall) which is very convenient (it s quite easy to drive in Chiang Rai). ...
All the reviews are true. Da da is an exceptional host who tries her best to make you feel welcome in her home. She offers many services for our stay she offered to give us a tour of Chiang Rai (1200thb/total), dinner (100thb/person), breakfast (70thb/person), bike rental (200thb/person) and laundry (25thb/kg). Like other reviews have said Da da does tend to push the s...
We didn't know where in Chiang rai this hotel was when we booked it but it was cheap so the deal was sealed. It's a little bit a ways from most of the touristy things like the night bazaar, bus station, markets. Probably about a 20-30 minute walk. It's tucked back in a quiet neighborhood. There was free coffee and tea in the mornings which was nice. The room was big, c...

I wasn't expecting such a great hotel in Chiang Rai as the city is abit of a sleepy place (and the reason I visited to get away from the chaos of Bangkok) but the Rasa is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The whole place is very clean and well designed. The beds are firm and comfy and the rooms are well proportioned and the water is the fridge is free! (...
Truly, this is my secret hideaway, as it seems to have everything I need. It is reasonably priced, and located in a very convenient area. It is smack bang right alongside the old AirForce Base (not used anymore) and is a popular running track for early morning joggers. Breakfast is very very Thai, and not attractive to many foreigners, however there is nothing stopping...
We stayed three nights in this hotel which was transformed from a former warehouse. The name "@Chiang Rai" is definetely misleading - be aware that you are next to the Golden Triangle (really next to - 150m) which is 60 km north of Chiang Rai. As we were one of the very few guests, we enjoyed an astonishing service which included several free drinks, fresh fruits and ...

We stayed in the hotel for 3 days, and had a lovely time. I have never before had such beautiful views as those from the dinning room. The staff were always very helpful and attentive. The room was very clean and well equipped. I loved my time in Chiang Rai and the surrounding area, and will be using this hotel again.
Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Best thing has to be its view by Mekong River. Great place to enjoy drinks and food. Will stay there again next time we're in Chiang Rai.
just few minutes from central Chiang Rai but feeled like stayed in Bali🌴 I would be back my next trip to Chiang Rai . Agree
This is budget accommodation that delivers big! staff are friendly, rooms big, lovely gardens, free wifi in dining area, lovely pool, clean and airy, bathrooms clean and functional, food good, big beds with clean linen and quiet cos a couple of kms from main road (semi-rural). The Bandu Resort, as of November 2019, is under a new very committed and enthusiastic management, which will definitely improve an already very good structure. Location is excellent if you need to get to the airport as well as for daily trips in the Chiang Rai area. Not far from the city either, although very good wating/drinking options are within walking distance in ...
This is one of the few times when the actual experience of the property/facilities was nicer than the photos (it's usually the other way around). The hotel exceeded our expectations and made for a happy stay. The staff is very friendly and the hotel room was big, very nicely appointed, and clean. The hotel grounds were well kept and very pleasing - quiet, comfortable...
we have mixed feelings about this place..some things were nice: large clean room, bathtub, pretty gounds, comfy bed, better than avg (for thailand) breakfast, coffee shop on site. other things were not so great: no coffee in the room (although there was a kettle and cups..weird), evening meal was available, but western food was slow and cold (thai food was very good an...

Family room suite has spacious space, worth the price. A 7-foot King size bed is perfect for family who has to sleep with kids. No floor stepping which would be dangerous for toddlers.
