"Reading some of the online reviews about this place, we were a little sceptical when we got there. But the place is nothing like it, It’s very close the beach and provides the best value for your money. Rooms are neat and clean, when the Hot shower in our room wasn’t working they upgraded us to a bigger room with a Bath tub! Highly recommend this place to people visiting Railay beach"

"I had read a number of mixed reviews on Railay Bay Resort and Spa. Sure, the resort isn't new so some of the rooms likely have a little wear and tear but we booked a privacy jacuzzi suite and everything in our suite worked perfectly and most importantly, the room felt like an oasis on busy Railay Beach. This beach is busy for a reason. We've traveled quite extensively to a number of beach destinations and this beach took our breath away. By staying at the resort we found that the beach emptied out after around 5 or 6pm leaving only guests staying at this resort and the others along the beach to enjoy the jaw dropping sunsets. The hotel pool is front and centre offering amazing views out to the bay. Our suite featured an outdoor shower and jacuzzi tub, two sun loungers AND an outdoor sitting area, enclosed to the walkway by a set of wooden doors, which gave us the feeling of being in our own little garden oasis. We stayed in the 9000 block which was about a three to four minute walk to the pool and West Railay beach and only about a five minute walk to EAST Railay Bay so actually a very central location. There was also a second pool immediately adjacent to the 9000 block of suites which we didn't end up using but was large, very nice and super quiet the whole time we were there. If you really want to be close to the beach, the blocks of privacy suites range from the 000's closest to the pool / beach up to the 9000's furthest from West Railay Beach. One slight drawback was that the number of pool loungers was limited for the size of the resort (there really isn't any more room to add more anyway) and we found that people would leave their pool towels on the loungers but would not be there for extended periods (so we moved them). The staff was friendly and helpful at the front desk, the breakfast selection was decent, and the bar staff was ok. As a couple, we both agreed that we would return to Railay Bay in a heartbeat and would most likely stay in the pri"

"This place was one of the cheapest hotel rooms in Railay Beach, but it was just great. It's a little walk up a hill to get there (100 yards) but it isn't too bad. The pool was pretty murky, that's my only complaint."

"Very pleasant stay at Railay Princess. Its on East Railay which is not really a beach (the tide comes right up to the path) but there is a bit there at low tide! But West Railay beach is a 2 minute walk down the path at the side of the hotel, and West Railay beach is STUNNING. Within 10 minutes of arrival I was filming gibbons running up and down the balconys at the back of the hotel! I am a fan of monkeys so this was an absolute joy for me to watch them with their booty of stolen peanuts, and the housekeeper trying in vain to chase them with a broom! Beware the gibbons! There is a sticker telling you this on the balcony door! Really nice hotel and staff and beautiful surroundings."

"My wife and I went to Railay beach for the first time. The Sand Sea Resort is perfectly located on Railay, its on the best part of the beach and right on the sand. The Thai landscaping and views are just awesome. The breakfast and breakfast location was simply breathtaking on the beach. Take your camera to breakfast. We stayed two nights and it was a wonderful stay with very nice people no matter where we went on the beach. Some other buttet points that may help someone else decide on their trip: * At Sand Sea they charged us an additional 700THB for my wifes sister who was on holiday with us. Included a bed and breakfast which was ok with us. * The bathroom at Sand Sea doesnt have A/C. But it does have mosquito screens. Big bathroom in the Deluxe. * Be prepared to shoulder your bags, walk in the sea to the boat that will take you to Railay Beach. Then same for getting off the boat. About a 10 minute ride. * The Sand Sea doesnt serve alcohol. But you can walk 30 seconds next door and get all you want. * Our A/C unit in our room Wasnt working too well but they added freon and had it cooling wonderful within an hour after our checkin. * This is not a party beach. Restaurants close at 11:00pm. There is no loud pumping music with disco's that we saw or heard. This beach is relatively quiet at night. * For a massage walk down walking street and on the left there is one place with A/C and it cost 350THB for one hour oil massage. To travel to Koh Phi Phi Island from Railay costs 400 THB and takes close to 2 hours on a ferry boat. Can book this at Railay. Enjoy! JT & Nadia"

"I think this is the only hostel in Railay. Since it’s on Railay, I was hoping it’d be a bit more laid back, but it was really hard to chill out in the common areas. The bar plays loud electronic music all day and people are shouting and day drinking at the pool every day. If that’s what you’re into, I guess it’s good, but probably not if you just want to relax or have conversations. The dorm room and bed are fine, but my roommate said she had to clean it because the bathroom was so dirty. She also said they don’t wash the sheets after every new person, they just fold the sheets. The staff was friendly and helpful. It’s a decent value considering everything else is expensive, but if I booked again I would stay in Tonsai or Ao Nang and just day trip to Railay."

"certainly best hotel in Railay beach, very nice area. we recommend people and our friends to go. very beautiful landscape. just be prepared the beach and hotel are bit remote. if you like to rent a speed boat they will charge you more vs Phi Phi, for instance, You have to bargain hard as they inflate the prices. Be prepared that hotel and whole area has no pier for ferries and is reachable by longtail boat. so you have to get off the ferry and board the longtail boat at say 200 m away from shore. it is OK just be prepared for that. the territory of a hotel is small due to limestone cliffs around but very nice. you don't need to go anywhere, you are in the beauty there. definitely a place to go for seekers of natural beauty. people from Krabi came to our beach every day. that says something.
