Hotels near Larn Poo Dam

Best Hotel so far on our 6 week holiday. Great reception staff. Breakfast is a very strange affair. You will be asked the day before to choose your breakfast from a menu - you will receive it in the morning with only one piece of toast - ice cold - as it would appear to have been prepared very early that morning. Only once during our stay of 4 nights did the have a buffet breakfast as they had quite a few guest to cater for. Rooms are large but has no cupboards. Irritating issue is everything extra is charged for ie: toast at breakfast - 10 Bht. for a printed copy of our Ferry tickets and a quote of 300 Bht. for a transfer to the pier. (Free when you book your ferry ticket with Phuket ferry.) We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

I feel that this hotel have the best location in Krabi Town. First, it is just less than 5mins walk from Chao Fah Pier, and this hotel are near to the Krabi Night Markets, there are a few there. There are a lot of shops around the hotel for you to go to. The hotel is very clean. If you like retro and old fashion feel kind of hotel, this is the hotel for you! The hotel is very nicely decorated. The staffs are very helpful, and airport transfer from the hotel is very cheap, only 350bhat (depending on period)

This hotel was a big surprise to me - I booked it because I had read good reviews, but I wasn't expecting anything special. The first thing I noticed was how it looks from outside - the hotel has the look of a fancy spa of the type you sometimes find leading on to a beach. Secondly, the room is furnished in a traditional style but has everything you would expect to find in a four star hotel. If I remember correctly I had a four poster bed and wooden shutters on the windows. The breakfast is nothing special, but better than most hotels in this price range and fresh brewed coffee is freely available all day, which is a nice touch. The pool is quite small, but pretty and set in a garden at the back. The hotel is a little far from the beach area - in fact it is quite far from anywhere - but if you are there on business that isn't really an issue. I think they also provide free transport to the town centre, but better to check this. Once back in the hotel you probably won't want to leave - it is really comfortable!

Nice new hotel. You are fairly close to everything, rent a motorbike from the hotel if you can. The staff are all very nice and helpful. The pool is situated on the backside of the hotel, and in the sun the whole day. Some noise from the road, but had a great little poolside bar and the food was quite okay. Rooms are big and above par for a three star hotel. Had a great stay. Good base for exploring Krabi and it's surroundings, while getting away from the all the tourists at Ao Nang.

Well designed, new, modern and comfortable rooms, Comfy beds, clean linen, good towels. Very quiet outside as the hotel is surrounded by fields, however the maids clattering about and dragging furniture around was disturbing in the morning, perhaps attach some felt pads to the furniture legs. Shower water pressure was just OK, could be improved. TV would benefit from some more English and movie channels. Location suited me as I had a car, but a bit out of the way for the town if you have no transport. Good well lit off street car parking. Complimentary drinks tray could have included some tea bags for non coffee drinkers. The pool looked inviting but I had no time for it. Very good value for money on the late booking rate I received. I enjoyed my stay and would happily return on my regular trips to Krabi Town. My negative comments are intended to be constructive, and could easily be resolved I believe, and then the hotel would be perfect for the category, for mobile visitors.

I normally dont review hotels i stayed so often but I feel so happy that i want to share to everyone. I booked for one night ended up staying 5 nights. Joe and his mother, the owner is really a lovely person, they work hard to make sure you know what to do and where to eat in krabi. The room is perfectly clean. Bed and bed sheet is the same quality as a 3to4 star hotel. Shower water is strong and i felt so comfortable taking shower. Bath room is sooo clean also. You can go to any tourist attractions in krabi from this hotel since the pier is within a walking distance also the shuttle bus station. Suggest everyone who do not wish to stay by the beach but still love to explore to stay in this hotel. You will not regret, i promise.

+ cleanliness + huge bed + huge room + stylish + staff was very friendly (so we had the opposite experience than other people said here) + they work together with a motorcycle company. perfect organized (btw: they acted very german, cause their handling was very official) - sometimes there are ants in the room...:( - there are cars in the morning which promote next events. We could handle it but maybe you need earplugs ;) All in all we had a fantastic stay there!!! I have no idea why people don't like this place. We think sometimes they have booking and payment troubles with customers who booked about booking.com. So we haven't because we booked about agoda 😉 All in all it was a very nice stay and

An awesome small hotel run by a family. They gave great food downstairs, too. And the coffee deserves a mention, it is wonderful. The rooms are smart, stylish, comfortable and classy. You can tell someone really put down a thought or two when planning. Only con is there’s no elevator, there’s many stairs, but this is clearly stated when booking. Complimentary daily coffee (drip!!) and minibar. The location is good. Close to many shops and night market, many restaurants. As a westerner, the bed was the best we had in three weeks in Thailand. Love it. If we’re ever back in Krabi we’ll surely stay here!

This is my second trip to Thailand this year 2017. And this is the BEST hotel I have stayed at. Its a simple hotel, very basic, nothing fancy. Its great value, very affordable, Its extremely clean, good location near center of Krabi by shopping and night market. Has good security and most important really helpful, friendly staff. I believe in most cases, where ever you stay, its the attitude of the staff that makes a hotel. Thank you great staff at Hop Inn Krabi - you made us feel welcome and helped us with our onward travel. We had booked this hotel from Agoda.com so we had got the best price in last minutes booking , room only without breakfast . The location is in the center of the Krabi town. 5 minutes walking you will reach the night market where always on Friday and Saturday. The room very clean and new furnished. Facilities in the room were prepared completely.We like the bed and pillows so softly. Staff was smily and friendly Unexpected !! Our relaxing time were good when we stayed there.

To summarize, For the price that was offered, it was worth it! Room is spacious, comfortable bed, clean and i had a nice stay there for 1 night before catching my flight the next morning. The lady receptionist was very kind and friendly and she even helped out printing my boarding pass! For muslim, there's a muslim restaurant nearby just around the corner around 1-2 minutes walk from the hotel. The famous mud crab sculpture is around 10-15 minutes by walking. The only setback is this hotel have no elevators, but the staff was very kind to help bring my luggage up until level 4. All in all, a 5 stars experience for a 2 stars hotel.

I just booked for 1st arrival day because my flight re-scheduled arrival to 5AM. Only stayed morning nap form 6AM to noon. Reception was good service and room is really clean. However there is no lift so bag should be carry by yourself. Also hotel staff provide local map for krabi town which is super good. We only explore on that map as well. After short nap, we need taxi to next beach, booking was also really smooth and acceptable price. Since krabi is difficult to find meter taxi then price was bit high than I expected. Overall stay was super good. Thank you to hotel staff.

the hotel is located near the public thara park.there is the krabi river in front of the hotel. located away from the noisy bars and restuarants. location is convenience.easy to find food. you can walk to the food market at chao fa pier.around5minutes walk. you can contact the hotel for a tour package for example to go tophi phi island.the best island to walk and eat around.because it has all facilities in the island. you can ask for the assistant from the hotel to call a car to pick up you to airport or bus terminal or any where you want with the resonable price the bedroom and the bathroom were nice and a good size,large enough to stay comfortably the staff are so nice,helpful and friendly,always offer nice service,welcome and service guest with a smile the hotel is great in term of roomrate,service,facilities.

We were half hearted while reviewing the comments from Trip Advisor but we decided to give this hotel a try since generally Agoda's customers have given them very good rating. We are very pleased that we have chosen this hidden gem. Very spacious room and just 5 mins walk to the night market (Krabi Town) and river side walk. The receptions will give you loads of information (when you ask) how to catch Songteaw (roof covered open air truck - Blue / Red / White) ; minibus ; bicycle or motorbike hiring to Ao Nang beach areas. We purposely booked this hotel on Friday night since night market only available on Fri/Sat/Sunday night. Bear in mind there is no lift in this hotel, you may need to request lower floor ahead by noting a remark while you are booking with Just Fine Krabi. The room that we stayed absolutely no ants which matter the most to me! Only drawback is no toothpaste / toothbrush available to guests.

The room was exactly as the picture and the service in this hotel is A++++, 1 million / 10. When we checked in, the lady realized that we did not include the breakfast option. Then, she whipped out a map on how we are able to go to their local morning market to get a local breakfast and she also gave us direction to the famous Krabi Town Night Market, which is about a 15 mins walk. The location may not be the best of the best, as compared to staying near the night market but there is a popular Mexican restaurant on the same row, and there is a 7e, right across the streets :)

Our stay at the Doungta Anda Hotel is awesome. We had so much fun stayed there for 3 days and 2 night. Every aspect is almost perfect although it started their operation last year. The room is comfortable and affordable. We made our booking late but we manage to get a good hotel near to the place of attraction around Krabi. We will suggest others to choose this hotel is they plan to go to Krabi. p/s : We will choose Doungta Anda Hotel again if we came back here next time...Good luck in upcoming year :)

this hotel is only a few years old, and just off the main downtown street on a quiet soi across from a large vacant lot. easy to walk to anyplace in the downtown krabi area, and krabi is the nicest small towns, maybe 30,000 population, in thailand. it's clean and quiet, all or the 24 rooms face in the same direction, east, toward a small but adequate pool (i swim laps, and it worked). it's only four floors, and if you like privacy, as i do, 8 of the rooms face the back of the reception and breakfast building. the other 16 rooms actually look out over the pool. as the hotel faces east, by early afternoon the pool is in shade, a plus for real swimming, but one can still sunbathe if that's your pleasure, as the deck loungers are all on the sunny side of the pool, facing the hotel. breakfast is adequate though not wonderful or luxurious: coffee, tea, toast, fruit, juice, dry serial and milk, all buffet style, while you order a plate of bacon or ham and eggs which they bring out to you. i was there around new years, and the hotel was full but still seemed spacious and kept a quiet, easy feeling. the rooms have a small but tiled shower, sink and toilet in the bathrooms with as much hot water as you like, and liquid soap and shampoo. my room had a king bed and a tile floor as well as a built in closet, desk (with chair), closet, and tv table. and all the rooms have a good-sized balcony with pleasant views and two comfortable plastic chairs and low table, as well as a drying rack for your towels and clothes. the staff, as usual in thailand, is friendly and helpful, and can book tours for you. best of all is to find a place so quiet that is essentially downtown but in a quiet location, with growing gardens. not cheap, not expensive, even at peak season (i paid per night including breakfast). just around the corner is the wonderful cafe europa, run by danes who serve great open-faced danish sandwiched like pickled herring or smoked salmon, reasonably priced.

The location is very nice, the best view of the river around and very quiet despite the boats on the river. Get the room with view, the balcony is amazing to hang out in the afternoon and the other rooms don't have any view. Super clean, the towels are like new and smell good. Fridge and save. Good internet. The restaurant is very basic just for breakfast but there are a lot of eating options just walking distance. I really like this little hotel and I would recommend it to everyone, I would go back without hesitation.

We only stayed for 1 night. Great location, walking distance to the river view and well known Seafood restaurent ''Poo Dam station'' ( Black Crab). There is also a good Tim-Sum restaurant close by if you are fancy a Chinese for your breakfast. The Owner and staffs were very supportive and friendly. However, the non-smoking room we stayed that night had a smell of cigarette all over. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience there.

My family booked 6 rooms at Tairada. The deluxe rooms are spacious, beautifully decorated and clean. My babies love that they can run around the room. The twin room offer privacy. My brothers comment were they are happy that the room is big and smell nice. My 2 newlywed sisters were staying in superior rooms. They said that the rooms are super great for romantic getaway. My little sister staying alone im superior room said that the room is cute. What can be improved are, the hotel should have option for breakfast and it will be great if the worker can speak proper english.

Overall our room was nothing too fancy but great value for money. Big enough room, wifi and in an excellent location, right near many restaurants and bars. Staff were very nice, and the hotel offered a very good ferry deal to the islands, it was cheaper for us to do it via the hotel then if we'd booked it online . I'd recommend this place if staying for a night or 2 in krabi town.

We stayed here for a week and had a very pleasant stay. The greenery is located on the edge of town, an easy stroll to all local highlights. The staff are amazing, helpful, friendly, delivering a high standard of customer service throughout our stay, as good as if not better than 4 and 5 star hotels we have stayed in recently. We do not like Aircon, so our room was great cool even though the outside temperature was in the high 30's. Housekeeping was exceptional, spotlessly cleaned every day with everything smelling fresh. Reception was top notch helping with onward travel, etc and always giving a welcoming smile. Highly recommended.

The rooms were big and clean and the bed was very comfortable. There were many dining options available and if you want local food, there is just a market down the street. The staff was very helpful and helped with the booking of my family's trip to the islands and also transport. Down the main road, there are numerous bars with cheap drinks. There are also several coffee houses around the hotel. However, the hotel is located at the intersection of he main road and a side road and so the room facing the river can be rather noisy at times due to the traffic. The other problem I faced was that the room had no lift and I stayed on the fourth floor which was not the best especially during check out since I had done much shopping there. The only toiletries available were soap and shampoo, shower cap and cotton buds so do bring you own toothbrushes should you stay here. It would be good to arrange transportation with the hotel to pick you up from the airport when you arrive. The taxi service at the airport did not allow my family of four to ride in the normal cab and had to pay 600baht for a minivan. Unless you don't mind ravelling by bus to the hotel or if you're travelling in a group less than 3, I would advise you to arrange transport with the hotel. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and I would choose this hotel again.
